Marion, Ind-- TLC announced on Monday, August 10th, that due to popular demand, a spin off to its highly rated show 'Jon & Kate Plus Eight' is currently shooting. The show, Jon Minus Nine, will focus on Jon Gosselin's bachelor lifestyle, as he abandons his eight children, refuses to pay child support, develops a drug habit and courts mid-class prostitutes all over central Pennsylvania. And that's just the first episode. "We are really excited to depict the journey of Jon Gosselin as he transforms from a mildly attractive, suicidal, father of eight to an obscure, z-list, has-been bachelor who tries to stay relevant to society," said Eileen O'Neill, TLC Network President. O'Neill also stated that TLC was originally going to give Gosselin a gracious one-week recovery period from his life-altering divorce from his wife and separation from his eight children before shooting began, however, Gosselin declined. "Bring on the show," said Gosselin at the press conference "why should I delay my rise to fame just because I forgot to wear a condom on prom night?" 'Jon Minus Nine' is currently in production and will air on TLC, beginning September 19th in the 1:00am time slot. TLC also mentioned it has plans to develop a Kate-centric spinoff to debut next year simply titled 'My Father Was Right About You.
